Verde Percussion Field Trip Share

Dance movements from 3rd graders.
Last year: Find the cymbal kept their attention.
Class was accidentally separated.
Vocabulary was advanced.
Most 3rd graders talked about the Lion's Roar instrument.
Presentation not as dry as previous years.
Great attention getting with the echo rhythms.
Like meeting Maestro Eric Garcia
Can write thank you letters to The Jackson Foundation, and send to Sara Neddo.

Orff Workshop

It was wonderful. Those who attended (Renee, Tony, Adriana, Sara and Diana)

Sara used one in Kinder with dynamics (loud and soft):

Going on a Bear Hunt!

Changed lake to river. Changed tall tree to snow storm.  Added "Beautiful Day"

Presenter did such a great job of tying into Orff's 4 areas: preparatory play, imitation, exploring and creating.

Grading/Grade Book Questions

Can change grading to "The last one entered" so grades can be entered 1, then 2 then 2 then 3, and want a "3" to show up.

Next year for inservice days, which are non-contract days. Boise teaches those days and Valivue has one work day.  Need cafeteria, gym and hallway. School near free way: Snake River. Endeavor. Park Ridge. Willow Creek (hard to find). Central?  Iowa is easy to get to, yet far from interstate. There are benefits to the host. Mini-Conference every 4-5 years, and last was 2014.

Next Meeting October 25th at Iowa (Bill's Place)
